Deja brrr!

Ok, anybody who doesn't believe in global warming at this point is just plain ignorant.

I've only been here in Victoria for 7 years but we have never had a fall/winter season like this! Snow before the end of January is really rare, and here we are with our second snowstorm of the season. School was closed early yesterday as it just kept coming down so the kids and I had some fun in the back yard.

You might notice that our big willow tree is missing. We had to have it taken out because the high winds we had broke 15 or so large branches off and more were threatening. Good riddance, I say. That thing was a mess. When the snow clears up and the ground is a bit softer we'll consider other options. I'm leaning towards a dogwood or two.

Your two small ones look like they have a lot of fun in the snow. We miss it here: we have almost no snow at all in Montreal. We cannot go skiing on the sidewalk, we cannot go skating in the park. It is above zero since I don't know when but minus 30 is coming on Monday.
What is happening? Is it just a weird year or are climatic changes accelerating faster than what David Suzuki predicted? Or maybe he did predict it. (How more badly informed could I be?)

I has been unusually warm here. I am in Michigan, and we have had no snow! Very odd, although I am not complaining, lol.

The kids look like they love the snow and had fun making that cute snowman!

Just wanted to update on the temperature in Montreal: it is
-16 C right now and there is finally plenty of snow to play, to go skiing and surely skating in the park soon. Leonard and Odile are very happy with it as you can guess.

-16! Well that's more like it. It's hovering around the -2 mark here but the snow is almost all melted. I grew up in California so I'm more of a "let's look out the window at the snow" kind of girl and not so much "pass me my skis". I don't mind any of the seasons but I would like it if things were more predictable so I could stop fretting about global warming so much. As it is we've decided to buy a diesel car this year so we can start buring biodiesel. Every little bit helps :)
