I'm going to try to find a picture of how our kitchen used to look ...

Ah yes, here's one. This is from the first viewing we had, before we bought it:



So you can see the crappy old sheet vinyl on the floor that we really hated. We ordered some really pretty engineered hardwood and I installed it myself in 2 1/2 days. I still have to do the baseboard but I love the way it turned out. It's beech with a cinammon stain.



There's Darren on the couch. "Looking good, honey. Keep it up."

Next is to redo the kitchen cabinets and worktop, and I really need to reupholster those chairs.

I am part way through ripping up the carpet and laying down hardwood in the hallway and am saving the bedroom for last.

Yee haw!

p.s. YES we have a tv and a couch in our kitchen. What.

The urge to lounge can strike anywhere, anytime.

Ok, anybody who doesn't believe in global warming at this point is just plain ignorant.

I've only been here in Victoria for 7 years but we have never had a fall/winter season like this! Snow before the end of January is really rare, and here we are with our second snowstorm of the season. School was closed early yesterday as it just kept coming down so the kids and I had some fun in the back yard.

You might notice that our big willow tree is missing. We had to have it taken out because the high winds we had broke 15 or so large branches off and more were threatening. Good riddance, I say. That thing was a mess. When the snow clears up and the ground is a bit softer we'll consider other options. I'm leaning towards a dogwood or two.
